What is Reiki? Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that is being increasingly recognized in a variety of medical settings. Slowly, a shift is occurring within the medical community to include complimentary, holistic healing practices like Reiki to support overall health and wellbeing.
Reiki is based on the idea that everything in the Universe is made up of energy. When our energy is low, we are more susceptible to stress, anxiety, injury and dis- ease. Reiki aids in balancing and restoring the body’s natural energy to promote relaxation and enhance wellbeing. Reiki may work on the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual level to activate the bodies natural healing ability. Reiki has no contradictions and may be used in harmony with standard medical care and treatment.
What to expect:
A traditional Reiki session is offered in a peaceful setting while you are fully clothed and lying down. I use a light, gentle touch beginning at the crown of the head and working towards the feet. In each position, my hands are held stationary on the body or at times, hovering just above the body. My hands are intuitively guided by the energy of each individual. I view Reiki as an opportunity to "clear the slate" and re-balance our energetic body. Following a Reiki session, recipients often report feeling calm, relaxed and peaceful. *Please dress comfortably.
